We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a well-established engineering team. This is a varied role offering a mix of workshop and mobile site work, providing the opportunity to work on a wide range of mechanical equipment and plant across different customer locations.
The Role
As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair and servicing of a variety of mechanical equipment and industrial plant. Working alongside a skilled engineering team, you will carry out planned preventative maintenance, respond to breakdowns, complete equipment installations and undertake mechanical upgrades, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation, maintenance and repair of mechanical plant and equipment.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown repairs.
- Install and commission new mechanical equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out effective repairs.
- Work both within the workshop and at customer sites.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety procedures.
- Complete job documentation accurately and maintain high-quality workmanship.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter or in a similar mechanical engineering role.
- Strong fault-finding and mechanical repair skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good understanding of health and safety practices.
- Full UK driving licence (essential).
