Mechanical Engineer, Temp to Perm, £24.00 per hour

Responsibilities

• Covering Glasgow Central Belt, Fife & Ayrshire (with occasional UK travel)
• Hours: Monday–Thursday 7:30am–4:30pm, Friday 7:30am–1:30pm (37.5 hrs/week)
• Carry out fault finding, planned preventative maintenance (PPMs), and reactive repairs on plant machinery
• Inspect, test, and maintain dust and fume extraction systems, exhaust ventilation, and associated mechanical equipment
• Diagnose and repair issues with drives and control systems
• Complete all assigned jobs via PDA system, ensuring accurate reporting and documentation
• Travel across designated regions to support a variety of client sites
• Maintain high standards of safety, compliance, and workmanship at all times

Requirements

• Proven experience in mechanical maintenance, fault finding, and repair work
• Knowledge of ventilation systems, extraction units, and industrial plant equipment
• Familiarity with drives and control systems is highly desirable
• Full UK driving licence (essential due to mobile nature of the role)
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively via PDA system
• Flexibility to travel and occasionally work away when required
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
