Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate a conventional horizontal boring machine

  • Operate manual machine tools including lathes, milling machines, and drills

  • Manufacture precision components from engineering drawings

  • Work to tight engineering tolerances and quality standards

  • Inspect and measure work during all stages of production

  • Assist in developing and improving standard operating procedures

  • Support productivity and efficiency improvements within the department

  • Maintain excellent housekeeping and safety standards

  • Work collaboratively as part of a skilled machine shop team

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a manual machinist or boring machine operator

  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings

  • Knowledge of safe working practices in a machine shop environment

  • Experience with a Kearns Richards SH75 or similar is highly desirable

  • Counterbalance forklift licence and overhead crane experience are advantageous
