Job Title: Fitter/Welder x2 (Heating & Pipefitting) – Salary 40-45k
Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Fitter/Welder with a strong background in heating and pipefitting systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in plantroom and boilerhouse installations and be confident working independently or as part of a small team on commercial projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation of commercial heating, plumbing, and chilled water systems
- Working on plantroom and boilerhouse installations
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
- Carrying out pipefitting using a variety of methods including press fit, Victaulic, screwed, brazed, soldered, and welded systems
- Performing arc and gas welding to a high standard
- Ensuring all installations meet required safety and quality standards
- Running own jobs and working on own initiative within a small team
- Liaising professionally with clients on-site
Requirements
- Qualified Heating Engineer or Pipefitter (Senior Craftsman level desirable)
- Proven experience in commercial heating and plumbing installations
- Strong understanding of plumbing and heating system operation
- Experience working with a range of materials including mild steel, stainless steel, galvanised steel, and copper
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Comfortable in client-facing environments
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Gas qualifications, including testing and purging (advantageous)
- Experience working with steam systems (beneficial but not essential)
