Select electrical equipment, cables, components, and systems to meet operational specifications
Analyze requirements and produce electrical drawings using CAD software
Document wiring procedures and coordinate with manufacturing staff
Support manufacturing with process and product improvement projects
Assess electrical circuits and systems using appropriate test equipment
Create and maintain specifications and Bills of Material
Design low voltage electrical distribution and control panels, including prototyping
Perform calculations to ensure compliance with health & safety and electrical design standards
Liaise with suppliers to ensure equipment meets design specifications
Estimate project timescales, labor, and material costs
Travel occasionally for training, supplier visits, external testing, or customer trials
Design and develop production test fixtures
Respond promptly to quality and electrical safety issues
HNC, Degree, or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or closely related subject
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in electrical systems
Solid understanding of electrical-mechanical integration
Experience creating and maintaining wiring diagrams/schematics via CAD software
Knowledge of electrical wiring layouts, harnesses, and compliance with health & safety standards
Strong technical problem-solving skills
High level of practical electrical skills
Experience using SEE Electrical 2D/3D CAD software
Knowledge of machinery safety systems or global equivalents
Experience certifying products to EN61010 (Low Voltage Directive) and CE marking
Familiarity with industrial process control and automation (PLCs, PACs)
Functional safety standards knowledge
Experience with signal integrity and EMC design
Previous involvement in new product introduction and manufacturing process improvement
Time-served electrical apprenticeship
